Look at this photo carefully. See anything wrong?
This is the front of a concrete mixer truck and one just like it nosed-out into a lane of traffic while trying to cross the road. A car in that lane collided with the elevated, extended front bumper, the roof of the car was peeled back and a person in the car was killed.
Notice how the vertical poles are not in the right place. They do not mark the true front of the bumper. The concrete mixer driver relied on them, extended his bumper out into the perpendicular lane of traffic, and a tragic wreck was the result.
This defect is known, correctible and every collision caused by these protruding bumpers is preventible.
